Section III Athletics is the largest region affiliated with the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. With thirty three championship events, six competitive leagues, and a number of affiliate sports properties which make up Section III Athletics, the excitement never stops!
Mission Statement:
The mission of Section III Athletics is to provide a governing body, which shall organize and administer the interscholastic athletic program for member schools of Section III.
Student-athletes compete with honor and integrity, and play for the love of the game, so let's all cheer for our team, have fun, and support the spirit of Section III Athletics.

Section III is seeking highly motivated individuals that would like to become
Certified Sports Officials to officiate contests for our member schools in Central and Northern New York.
A golden opportunity for individuals and students interested in officiating any high school sport to gather information on how to get started. All Section III boys and girls officials’ organizations will have representatives on hand to answer questions and encourage participation.
Example of Duties:Sports:
Maintain control of participants and contest Modified 7 & 8 grade, JV, Varsity
within the framework of rules and Section III policies.Baseball, Basketball, Cross CountryAvailable to work on weekends upon request.Field Hockey, Football, Soccer
Maintain a professional work ethic. Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse
Attend official organization training sessions.Track and Field, Wrestling
Softball, Volleyball
Typical Qualifications:
Ø Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ø Knowledge of appropriate sports rules.
Ø Completion of Certification program.
Ø Abide by NYSED qualifications/requirements.
Ø Experience in area of interest.
Rate of Pay:
In accordance with the 2009-2013 agreement between the Central New York Sports Officials and the member Schools of Section III, NYSPHSAA.
